Lauren is a Hyde Park Chicago native. Her artwork is driven by her passion and love of color, shape and beauty in people and nature. As a child, Lauren always had a passion for art and began drawing in elementary school. Her high school art instructors encouraged her to pursue art, after receiving many awards. Lauren studied at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Columbia College Chicago, receiving a BA in Advertising Marketing and Art. In addition, she received professional training at the Bronzeville School of Art under the instruction of Gerald Sanders. Lauren is inspired by her mother who also studied and taught art, and her father who was a musician, from which she has also inherited his talent.
Lauren is a commissioned fine artist and has sold artwork to many wonderful people. She works in various mediums such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, pastel, acrylic, oil and watercolor. Lauren has exhibited at Murphy Hill Gallery, the Framing Mode (south Loop) and The Great Frame Up (Hyde Park) Chicago.
